I’ve been driving 3DX for years now and had to deal with overheating, especially in the high heat months. Recently, I cleaned out the whole radiator and all the dust packed behind it. Honestly shocked at how much dirt was stuck there. Took about 20 minutes with proper washing and now the temp stays nice even when pushing the machine hard. The side panels are kinda a pain to remove and you gotta be safe with all the locks, but you can absolutely do this maintenance yourself if you’re careful. I hate messing with those bolts though. In terms of convenience, it’s decent, just wish getting to the radiator was easier.

So, just spent a week running a 3DX Expert on some drainage work. Fuel efficiency actually surprised me, didn't need to refuel during long shifts. Hydraulic response is fast enough, bucket cycles clean. Not sure about long run service costs, but routine oil and filter changes seem pretty spaced out. Didn't love the foot pedal layout, took a bit to get used to, especially when switching from an older model. Steering's light, makes quick changes of direction a breeze. Not much to complain about reliability yet, only issue was a slightly leaky hydraulic line (sorted now).

Working with JCB 3DX since the last few years, especially for heavy soil and rubble. Holds up fine with bucket work, but that old style fan is almost useless in heat, just doesn’t cool much. Fuel cost feels normal for this type of loader, nothing shocking but definitely adds up on long shifts. Shifting between loader and backhoe is easy, love the seat spin trick. No big issues so far, couple minor leaks but fixed quick. Nothing beats it for reach and easy operation, just wish the cab felt more comfy. Price these days is on the higher side.

Had an issue where my 3DX started heating up fast as soon as the weather changed. Opened up the loader, took off the panels, found that the radiator and cooler were clogged with dirt. It’s not really hard to clean if you’ve got a bit of time, but man, that dust gets everywhere. Gotta remember to pull out the battery cover and those 16-number bolts can be annoying. The shock absorber on the bonnet was busted, so I had to prop it up with a stick, which always feels sketchy. After cleaning, problem solved. Not sure why they don’t make this easier to access, it’s a sort of design flaw in my book.

The JCB 3DX excavator-loader appeared at our construction site 1.5 years ago. The machine pleasantly surprises with its reliability and quality of assembly. The loader's cabin is comfortable and spacious. JCB equipment parts and repairs are affordable in terms of cost. No shortcomings were found.
