Gemensamt för alla tekniker är att de skapar ett luftflöde genom marken
antingen genom att luft blåses in i eller sugs upp ur marken. Detta tillför syre till marken och stimulerar därmed den naturliga nedbrytning av oljeföroreningar som sker med hjälp av mikroorganismer
och ofta är en stor del av den totala sanering som sker
