The excavator is worth its money. It has everything for full-scale work. In principle, all Cat equipment is top-notch. We have 4 excavators from this company, although they are of different years of production. We hardly had to repair them.

I spent a long time choosing an excavator-loader because I had a limited budget. I settled on the Caterpillar brand, model 428. The machine worked fine for the first year. In the second year, there started to be an unclear vibration. The issue was resolved at the service center.

I've been using the JCB 4CX and noticed its comfort-focused cab design makes long shifts less tiresome. The hydraulic system performs efficiently during lifting and excavations, though setting might require adjustments depending on tasks. I appreciate its overall design and construction.

Took this mini-excavator (needed to clear a plot of cobblestones) for rent. It coped excellently, works very quickly, did not expect such speed from it.

The head gasket was recently replaced because a couple of cracks appeared and it started to leak oil. The repair was not cheap, but considering the heavy usage of the machine, there were no other serious issues. I think this was due to the negligence of the previous owners, but buying a used machine here is never without risks.

I chose between Cat and JCB. They say that JCB is better in quality. But for now, I am quite satisfied with the performance of Cat. It handles large volumes quickly (mostly in construction). The hydraulic system operates smoothly. It is comfortable to work with; overall, the machine is well-built. It quickly justifies the investments under good loads.

Excavator Caterpillar 306

After handling the Cat 306 for various jobs, it’s clear that this machine offers significant capabilities for its size. The stability stands out, especially when managing heavy loads, thanks to its steel tracks with rubber pads. That said, the absence of an angle blade does require some adjustments in leveling tasks. Fuel efficiency meets expectations, and regular maintenance appears straightforward, which is a plus.

If you choose a New Holland loader, you should get something not older than 2010 at least because they are used until they die. Machines from the 90s, although they are still sold, have already lived their lives. I speak from my sad experience.

We rented the Caterpillar 305.5E for work on a small site - we were laying cable in a new residential area. The machine is maneuverable and has a small turning radius. The controls are simple, and the productivity is high. We finished the job earlier than anticipated. However, I wouldn't buy such a mini excavator. It costs as much as a large excavator.

An ordinary ex, I didn't notice anything special about it, it performs the job just like machines from other brands. I have enough work experience and can compare it with our equipment, the only difference being the abundance of electronics and various gadgets in the Cat, but I'm uncertain about their necessity.
